Seattle and Kitsap County Family Law & Divorce Attorney
Divorce is stressful. Consulting with an understanding and knowledgable attorney at the outset will enable you to understand your options and determine the best course of action to move forward. How to proceed through a divorce is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. During your initial consultation at the Law Office of Robert C. Huber, we gather all the important details to understand your situation and assess your goals. By taking a big picture perspective, we are able to advise you how to proceed efficiently, and then guide and support you through each step along the way to get results.
Divorce Mediation / Collaborative Law
Whenever feasible, we strongly support using mediation, Collaborative or Cooperative law processes to resolve family law disputes respectfully away from the courtroom. Robert Huber mediates either solo or co-mediates with a dual team approach to help couples resolve their differences. Mediation can be extremely efficient and signficantly less expensive than other methods. By participating in the voluntary process out of court, you hang onto the ability to keep things confidential and retain your decisionmaking ability to resolve differences among yourselves with the help of a trained mediator. The Law Office of Robert C. Huber is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) and a member of King County Collaborative Law practice group. Collaborative divorce provides you with the support and advice of your own lawyer without going to court, as well as the benefit of a professional team of financial, child, and/or behaviorial specialists, to support you during the divorce process.
Family Law & Divorce Consultation
We understand that in certain cases, using a non-traditional approach such as mediation or Collaborative law will not be time- or cost-efficient and is unlikely to result in a reasonable outcome. In such cases, we will not hesitate to advise you to use a neutral third-party decisionmaker - whether it be the courts or a private arbitrator - to resolve differences more efficiently and within a certain time period. In these cases, we provide experienced support and strong advocacy on your behalf to make sure your realistic goals are acknowledged and are reflected in the final resolution.
By listening and learning about all the important details of your situation, we work to understand your goals and help you evaluate and select the best option to move foward - whether it is divorce mediation, Collaborative or Cooperative law processes, or using the courts or a neutral third-party decisionmaker to resolve differences.
